Extensions to Expired Safety Training Certificates
Energy Safety Canada has extended the expiration of its current training certificates. Certificates dated between January 1, 2020 to September 1, 2020 will be extended to September 1, 2020. Therefore, sites should deem certificates as current & valid provided that the certificate expiration is not dated prior to Jan 1st.
Canadian Red Cross has extended all Red Cross first aid certifications (which would have expired March 1, 2020 through June 30, 2020) and they will be considered valid 90-days beyond their expiry date. These certifications will also be accepted for recertification courses when in-person training resumes.
St. John Ambulance has extended a grace period for which recertification of Standard & Advanced First Aid certificates can occur by 90-days from the date of expiry. This period is extended for any individual who was affected by the COVID-19 suspension of training for any reason. |
Mike and Murray brought up the issue with receiving certificates online, instead of being in face to face environment. Is it recognized by the oil/gas industry as being acceptable? Mentioned this was an issue in previous years.
