During a 72 hour period between May 4-6, 2021 the Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance will be
conducting their annual Roadcheck. During the Roadcheck CVSA-certified inspectors will
primarily conduct the North American Level 1 Inspection, a 37-step procedure that includes an
examination of driver operating requirements and vehicle mechanical fitness. This year there will
be a special focus on Lighting and Hours of Service.

The best way to prepare for Roadcheck is to know what is expected. The parts of your truck that
will be inspected during the level 1 inspection are:

● All sides of the tractor
● Tires, wheels, rims & hubs
● Brakes
● Lights
● Major safety components
● Proper load securement
● Fire extinguishers

Drivers must also have current and valid:
● Drivers Documents (TDG, Licence, etc)
● Shipping documentation● Paperwork for all units
● Log books and duty status updates
● Inspection Reports

Please ensure that all defects are reported to the maintenance department immediately so that
repairs can be scheduled and completed prior to the start of Roadcheck 2021.
